Recipe for the Week

As promised, here's the recipe for the Asian Grilled Beef Salad. Enjoy!

You will need:

400g - 450g of Beef Steak (I prefer sirloin)
1/4 cup Lime juice
150g Spring Mix Salad or 1 small head lettuce.
1/2 cup Cilantro Leaves
1/2 cup Mint Leaves
100g Cherry Tomatoes
1 Red Onion (thin slices)
3 Tablespoons of Thai Fish Sauce (or adjust according to taste)
1/2 Teaspoon of Sugar (or adjust according to taste)
Vegetable Oil/Olive Oil
Salt

First season beef with salt and leave for about 10mins. Brush beef with oil and grill or pan fried to prefer doneness, about 4 minutes for medium-rare. Let steak rest for about 5 minutes on a plate or cutting board. Cut steak to strips of 1/2 inch or bite-size.

Mix Lime juice, 2 tablespoons of Fish Sauce and Sugar. Taste the mix with a piece of lettuce, add more fish sauce and sugar to taste.

Prepare your salad mix, cut or tear up lettuce. If you have spring mix salad, just add Cherry tomatoes (halved), Cilantro leaves and sliced red onions. Toss them in a bowl.

Once you got your salad mix, place steak on top of the salad mix, drizzle the dressing over.
If you like your salad with a little 'punch', you can add 1 or 2 cut up chilli padi.

Serve about 4.
